Oricon Venture helps institutions translate business challenges into innovation opportunities and digital pilots they can evaluate. We begin with the process, its users and the intended result, then design a workshop, programme or focused pilot with clear measures and responsibilities.
Scope, dates and outputs are defined when we review your needs.
What we work towards
01
A clear challenge and success measure
Define the problem, beneficiary, intended effect and a baseline for comparison.
02
A pilot or programme plan
Activities, stages, owners and outputs designed around the organisation and audience.
03
An implementation and adoption roadmap
Priorities, requirements, training and reviews that help teams use and improve the solution.
Areas of work
01
Open innovation
We design innovation sprints, challenges and startup scouting around a specific problem. We establish the challenge and evaluation criteria, develop concepts and test suitable options at a manageable scale.
Innovation sprints to frame opportunities and test concepts.
Open challenges with clear screening and comparison criteria.
Startup scouting connected to organisational needs and pilot requirements.
02
Digital transformation
We review workflows, data and responsibilities before selecting tools. Duplicate entry, handover delays and automation opportunities become prioritised improvements that can be tested.
A current workflow map and target-process requirements.
Time, quality or error measures suited to the case.
A limited pilot and an adoption and training plan; specialist development has an agreed scope.
03
Institutional programmes
We design training, incubation and corporate acceleration programmes for universities, companies and supporting institutions. The design connects objectives, audiences and selection criteria to reviewable outputs.
Learning and applied work connected to a real challenge.
Stages, team assignments and output review points.
Progress evaluation, an executive summary and next-step recommendations.
Who this pathway supports
Small and medium businesses improving operations or customer experience.
Operations, sales, marketing and people teams facing recurring problems.
Organisations seeking a structured way to develop and test ideas.
Leaders building practical capability in tools and data.
Details before you start
Corporate innovation: from a challenge to an experiment
We begin by defining the challenge: who experiences it, how it appears and its effect on time, cost or service quality. This helps avoid starting with an untested solution. Ideas can then be prioritised by relevance, testability and required resources.
A test might be a prototype, a limited process change or a different customer message or channel. A useful success measure is identified in advance, followed by a review before deciding whether to continue or change direction.
Digital transformation: tools that support a clear workflow
This area considers processes, information and roles before selecting systems. We examine the existing workflow, repeated data entry, missing information, handovers and the evidence managers need for decisions.
Possible outputs include information organisation, automation priorities, tool requirements or team training plans. Where specialist technical development or implementation is needed, it is defined in a separate and explicit scope.
Possible outputs
An agreed challenge brief and intended beneficiary.
A simple current-process map and improvement points.
Priorities for ideas or digital applications.
A limited experiment with responsibilities and measures.
Initial tool or solution requirements where needed.
A change-adoption and team capability plan.
Starting the conversation
Choose a specific challenge and describe examples, the affected team and what has already been tried. We review the goal, boundaries and available information before discussing scope, outputs, time and responsibilities. A challenge workshop, diagnosis or practical training may be an appropriate starting point.
The organisation’s role
Internal participation is essential to understanding the work and testing improvements. Nominate a contact, identify relevant people and prepare process examples. Avoid sensitive information in an introductory message; any necessary information-sharing scope is agreed before delivery.
How it connects with the four centres
The Business Clinic supports diagnosis, the Training Center develops capability, incubation methods help test new ideas and acceleration focuses on suitable growth projects. This page describes an area in the Oricon Venture plan; availability and delivery arrangements are clarified on enquiry.
